NEW GLARUS - Marshall got the best of Capital South rival New Glarus Thursday night, as Cam Ward, a Vermont recruit, scored a game-high 29 points as his team won 73-45.
The Glarner Knights trailed by 11 points entering the final quarter, but Marshall's offensive prowess was too much to handle, as they erupted for 26 points to erase all hope for a New Glarus comeback.
Landon Zimmerman had 10 points for the Knights (5-6, 1-1).
Darlington 48, Fennimore 39
FENNIMORE - Both Cade Hardyman and Cole McDonald combined for half of the Redbirds points in their 48-39 victory over conference-foe Fennimore.
In a game that saw a number of players contribute, the Darlington boys basketball team was able to connect on eight three-point field goals in sealing the victory.
With the win, Darlington remains perfect in conference competition, and will challenge New Glarus on Saturday, Jan. 18.
