MADISON - The Rock County Fury girls hockey team dropped a heartbreaker 2-1 in overtime to the Middleton Metro Lynx Tuesday night at the Madison Ice Arena.

"I told the girls after the game it should hurt," Rock County Fury coach Dave Soddy said. "We thought we could win. It's the early part of the journey. It's not our destination. We know if we leave everything on the ice we can leave the rink with our heads held high."

Rock County's Maggie Henschler scored an unassisted goal at 7 minutes, 16 seconds in the first period to give the Fury a 1-0 lead. Both Monroe sophomore Ally Einbeck and freshman Cammi Ganshert play for the Rock County Fury (2-2, 1-1 Badger Conference).

Metro Lynx junior forward McKenzie Imhoff scored a game-tying goal in the second period on assists from Kara Epping and Lizzy Conybear to tie the game at 1.

Lynx sophomore Hannah Edington scored the game-winning goal in the extra session.

Rock County Fury senior goalie Molly Gross had 40 saves.
