BELLEVILLE — The Wildcats clinched at least a share of the Capitol South title thanks to a 49-35 win over Cambridge, who came into the game tied atop the standings with Belleville.
Three Wildcats scored in double figures, and two more players scored eight points. Addison Edge led the way with 12 points. Maddi DeSmet had 11. Toria Devoe tallied 10. Khylee Lietz and Nikole Schultz added eight points each.
The two teams were knotted at 20 at halftime, but the home squad outscored the Blue Jays 29-15 in the second stanza.
Cambridge (16-6, 7-2) made just one three-pointer all night, while Belleville (18-5, 8-1)had six. The Wildcats were also a useful 15 of 22 from the free throw line, while Cambridge was just 9-for-19 from the stripe.
Belleville’s final regular season game was Feb. 20 at Waterloo. The Wildcats earned a first-round bye in the WIAA Division 4 playoffs and will host the winner of Darlington and Westby on Friday, Feb. 28.
Delavan-Darien 65, Monroe 35
MONROE — The Cheesemakers shot just 28.3% from the field and were outscored 46-12 in the paint in a Rock Valley Conference loss Feb. 17.
Alexis Gertsch led the Cheesemakers with 20 points on 7 of 15 shooting, including a 3-for-5 mark from distance. Delaney Stallings led Delavan-Darien with 26 points. Monroe recognized its six seniors prior to the game: Kelsi Cameron, Ada Lehto, Breanne Kundert, Anastasia Lattin, Brinley Roidt and Mackenzie Ruegsegger.
Juda 42, Williams Bay 29
JUDA — The Panthers tallied win No. 4 on Feb. 17 in a nonconference tilt.
Rianna Sullivan scored 15 points for Juda, while teammate Anna Bartels added 10.
Juda led 20-10 at halftime.
Argyle-Pecatonica 67, Lancaster 59
ARGYLE — Three AP players reached double figures in a nonconference game against a Division 4 school that will help prepare them for the upcoming postseason.
Kylie Butler led all players with 23 points, including a perfect 9-for-9 mark from the charity stripe. Brooke Wellnitz scored 17 points and Avari Steiner had 16 for AP. Jessica Morgan led Lancaster with 20 points — all coming in the second half.
AP led 31-23 at halftime and won the game from the free throw line in the second half. AP was 27 of 34 from the line overall, and 18-for-21 in the second half.
Argyle-Pecatonica 63, New Glarus 40
NEW GLARUS — Avari Steiner was 5-for-7 from three-point range and finished the night with 22 points to lead all scorers in a Feb. 17 nonconference game.
Brooke Wellnitz had 21 points and 13 rebounds for AP, while Kylie Butler finished with 14 points and four steals.
Kate Parman led New Glarus with 13 points, and Anya Brenkman added 11.
New Glarus 62, Waterloo 34
NEW GLARUS — The Glarner Knights went on the road and overpowered the Pirates Feb. 18.
Anya Brenkman scored 25 points to lead the way, while Kate Parman had 17 points and 13 rebounds. Ellie Brenkman grabbed 10 rebounds and Kalia Malaise added 12 points for New Glarus, which led 35-17 at the intermission.
Mineral Point 57, Darlington 48
DARLINGTON — Maddie Gratz scored 17 points and Sadie Goebel added 12, but the Redbirds couldn’t quite find a way to stick with the SWAL-leading Pointers in their game Feb. 18.
Mineral Point led 36-28 at halftime and out-scored Darlington 21-20 in the second half.
The Redbirds committed a forgettable 28 turnovers.
In other girls basketball action, Albany-Monticello defeated River Valley 58-30 in a nonconference game Feb. 18.

Delavan-Darien 70, Brodhead 49
DELAVAN — Gabe Bockhop, Sam Searls and Brady Riese all scored 10 points, but the Cardinals could not keep pace with their host in a make-up game Feb. 19.
Brodhead trailed by just three at halftime, 26-23. Delavan-Darien out-scored the Cardinals 44-26 in the second half.
Brodhead 77, Clinton 64
BRODHEAD — Cullen Walker had 27 points to lead the Cardinals against the Cougars on Feb. 18. Brody Riese added 16 points and Gabe Bockhop added nine.
Brodhead trailed 31-30 at halftime, but the Cardinals came alive in the second half — thanks in part to Walker, who scored 21 of his points after the intermission.
Darlington 66, Dodgeville 57
DARLINGTON — The Redbirds overcame a 7-point halftime deficit with a powerful 41-25 second half to beat the visiting Dodgers Feb. 18.
Broker Buschor scored 22 points, Zeke Zuberbuhler had 19 and Ryder Fitzsimons added 11 for Darlington. Fitzsimons, Dante Glendenning and Taggart Gille each had seven rebounds.
Overcoming a poor 4-for-27 (14.8%) shooting percentage from three-point range, Darlington made a more manageable 18 of 25 free throws to close out the game.
Bryce Crubaugh-Lockard led Dodgeville with 29 points.
Belleville 72, Wisconsin Heights 54
MAZOMANIE — The Wildcats trailed 33-31 at halftime, but outscored the Vanguards by 20 points in the second half to secure a Capitol South victory Feb. 18.
Marshall 82, New Glarus 52
MARSHALL — The Knights couldn’t keep up with the Cardinals on Feb. 18.
Carson Connelly of Marshall led all players with 20 points. He was one of four Cardinals in double figures scoring.
Albany 46, Monticello 42 2OT
ALBANY — The Comets held back the feisty Ponies in a double-overtime thriller Feb. 18.
Monticello led 17-13 at halftime and the game went into overtime knotted at 31, and into the second overtime all-square at 38.
Ty Durtschi led the Comets with 23 points, nine rebounds and four steals. Kaden Zurfluh added 12 points and four steals.
Alex Roe paced Monticello with 14 points while teammate Drew Freitag added 12.
Juda 71, Williams Bay 53
JUDA — Jayden Brown scored 28 points and teammate Braydon Steinmann added 23 as the Panthers won their fourth game of the season on Feb. 17.
Juda led 40-25 at halftime and made 16 of 22 free throw attempts to close it out. The Panthers also out-rebounded their opponent 42-24.
Argyle 71, Juda 53
JUDA — One day later, same score in Juda, except this time the Panthers were on the losing end.
The Panthers held their own in the first half, going into the break trialing by just five points at 36-31. In the second half, Argyle out-scored Juda 35-22.
Jeremiah Collins had 22 points, eight rebounds and five steals to lead Argyle. Garrett Phillipson added 15 points and seven boards, Mason McNett 13 points and eight eight rebounds and Ike Waage 10 points and seven rebounds.
Jayden Brown led Juda with 22 points, 10 rebounds and four steals. Braydon Steinmann added 15 points, and Blake Adkins tallied eight points and seven rebounds.
Barneveld 60, Pecatonica 60
BARNEVELD — The conference-leading Eagles scored another win on Feb. 18, this time over the visiting Vikings.
Griffin Noll had 31 points for Pecatonica, Luke Leonard added 10 points and 10 boards and Charles Anderson tallied eight points and 10 rebounds.
Four Barneveld players reached double figures in scoring, led by Hunter Larson’s 14 points.
