CUBA CITY — The WBCA announced the girls basketball All-State teams on Tuesday, March 14. Eleven girls are selected to the First-Team, while another 20-plus received Honorable Mention accolades. Out of 10 local teams, five players were recognized for their season’s efforts.
In Division 3, Abbie Dix earned All-State honors after receiving Honorable Mention in 2022.
In Division 4, Lindsey Schadewalt made All-State for the second straight year, while teammate Alex Atwell received Honorable Mention recognition.
Schadewalt led New Glarus to a 26-1 record and a sectional appearance. The 5-10 guard averaged 23.9 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per contest for coach Kevin Parman and the Glarner Knights. Schadewalt also knocked down 72 three-pointers. Schadewalt, who holds an NCAA Division II offer, will enter her senior year with over 1,500 points. New Glarus has a 66-14 record through her first three seasons.
In Division 5, the duo of Alana Durtschi and Abby Hollis garnered All-State honors.
Durtschi helped lead Albany to the program’s first-ever state tournament appearance and a 28-1 record. The 5-7 guard averaged 14.6 points, 6.8 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 2.7 steals per contest for coach Derik Doescher and the Comets. Durtschi has helped Albany to a 70-9 record in her three seasons. She will enter her senior year with 851 career points.
Hollis helped lead Albany (28-1) to its first trip to state in program history. The 5-6 guard scored 17.1 points per game, connecting on 91 triples, and adding 3.0 assists and 2.6 steals per contest for coach Doescher and the Comets. Hollis has helped Albany to a 51-6 record in her first two seasons.
This year’s Ms. Basketball was Kamorea “KK” Arnold from Germantown.
