OREGON — The Oregon Ice Arena will host a series of hockey games this weekend rallying support for children whose parents have been touched by cancer.
The weekend of Dec. 2-3, 2021, hockey in Oregon is rallying the community to raise awareness of all types of cancer with Amber Peterson’s mantra of ‘Cancer Warrior’ and supporting an organization that provides support and an escape for children whose parents have been touched by cancer.
On Jan. 11, 2021, Amber, Oregon native and Kaden and Dawson Peterson’s mother, passed away resulting from complications of her bone marrow transplant while recovering from B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
Amber was a health enthusiast, avid runner and hockey mom to the core. Her son’s Kaden and Dawson have joined with the Oregon High School varsity hockey team and the Oregon Tradesmen Junior Hockey team to raise money through donations and Cancer Warrior t-shirt sales.
Kesem’s Mission Statement: Supporting children through and beyond a parent’s cancer, and vision of ensuring that every child impacted by a parent’s cancer is never alone, can only be realized through an ongoing, steadfast commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in every part of our organization.
