MONROE — An ice storm postponed the special event “Kaelie the Incredible” from its originally scheduled date of Jan. 10 to Feb. 8.

The event was to take place prior to the Monroe girls basketball varsity game against Stoughton, and will now be double featured. On Feb. 8, the Monroe girls basketball team will host East Troy at 4 p.m., while the boys basketball will host Stoughton at 7:15 p.m.

Kaelie Wunschel is a student at Parkside Elementary School in Monroe and was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma in November. The disease is rare, and Wunschel began an aggressive chemotherapy plan right away.

The special event will help raise money for the Wunschel family. There will be a “Miracle Minute” at halftime of both games, and Kaelie will be announced as an honorary starter in the girls basketball game.
