Six area players named all-region

MONROE — The Wisconsin Football Coaches Association released its all-region football teams Nov. 11, and six area players were selected.

Black Hawk-Warren had four players picked in total, which covered six positions. Monroe and New Glarus-Monticello each had one player picked.

Seniors Cayden Milz and Avery Baumgartner were selected to the All-Region 4 Small team for Black Hawk-Warren on both offense and defense. Senior teammates Gunner Foecking and Jaylen Rufenacht were named to the defensive team. Milz led the team in rushing and was selected at running back and linebacker. Baumgartner was picked for offensive and defensive line, while Rufenacht got the nod at defensive back and Foecking at defensive end.

Monroe junior running back Trevor Rodebaugh made the All-Region 4 Large team. Rodebaugh led the Badger South in rushing this season, amassing over 1,500 rushing yards in total.

New Glarus-Monticello junior wide receiver Nathan Streiff made the All-Regional 4 Small team. Streiff finished the season with 62 catches for 1,001 yards and eight touchdowns.
