Rueter, Evenstad lead Lady Redbirds

DODGEVILLE — The Darlington track team participated in the Dodge-Point eight-team invitational on Monday, April 10, with the Lady Redbirds finishing second behind Fennimore.

Raquel Reuter and Jaidyn Evenstad scored 32 of Darington’s 112 points with two top-three finishes. Reuter won the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:04.99 and took second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 28.29 seconds. Evenstad scored in both hurdle events. She took second in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 51.60 seconds and third in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 18.37 seconds.

In each of the relays that the girls entered, they placed. The 4x100 relay (Madeline Eaton, Quintessa Haesler, Gabrielle Leuchtmacher and Ava Wahlen) took second with a time of 58.78, as did the 4x400 relay (Alyza Johnson, Zoie Zuberbuhler, Niasia Niedziejko and Abby Solverson) with a time of 4:26.94. The 4x200 relay (Eaton, Haesler, Johnson, Zuberbuhler) took third with a time of 1:55.87.

In the 3200-meter run, Darlington girls finished two through four. Adalee Berget finished second with a time of 13:04.43. Alexis Murray followed her with a time of 13:52.66, and Clara Solverson came in with a time of 14:57.87.

The final top-three placers were Catie Blosch in the pole vault. She took third with a height of 8 feet even. Laura Weaver also took third in the shot put with a distance of 28-00.00.

On the boys side, George West had two top-three finishes. He took second in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:11.34 and third in the 1600-meter run with a time of 4:54.70.

Danick Haesler ran the 300-meter hurdles in 48.80 seconds for second place. He then worked with Isaac Crist, Kane McDermott and Parker Shager to take third in the 4x200 relay. The team finished with a time of 1:40.63. The 4x100 relay also finished in the top three. Eli Crist, Isaac Crist, Porter Paisley and Shager took second with a time of 49.02 seconds.

Ethan Aird took third in the pole vault with a height of 9-06.00.

The boys finished fifth of eight teams with 49 points. Prairie du Chien won the invite with 139 points.
