PRAIRIE DU CHIEN — Wisconsin Dells won the Southwest Wisconsin Conference meet Sept. 23 at Prairie du Chien Country Club.
The Dells finished with a team score of 393, finishing ahead of Lancaster (419), Darlington (453) and Southwestern-Cuba City-Benton (461). Prairie du Chien had three golfers compete, but not enough to count as a team score.
Lancaster’s Morgan Cooley was the medalist, finishing with a 15-over-par 87, four strokes better than Kayla Gray of Wisconsin Dells.
Darlington’s Brianna Gavinski was sixth overall, shooting an even 100 on the day. Josie Thomas (116), Josie Meister (117) and Sophie Wiegel (120) capped the scoring for the Redbirds. Payton Gratz finished with a 143.
Gavinski finished her round with three pars — off of which came on the back nine: on the par 3 11th, par 4 14th and par 4 16th hole.
Thomas parred the 17th hole with a four.
The Redbirds will return to Prairie du Chien Country Club for the WIAA Division 2 regional Sept. 30. The sectional round will be held Oct. 6 at Drugan’s Castle Mound in Arcadia.
The WIAA recently moved the state meet to Oct. 12 and 13 at Blackwold Run-Meadow Valleys in Kohler.
