COLUMBUS — The Redbirds competed in the WIAA Division 2 girls golf regional at Kestrel Ridge on Sept. 28. Darlington finished sixth out of 11 teams with a score of 446. Jefferson (390) won the meet, with Lakeside Lutheran (393) finishing second, ahead of third-place Edgewood (402) and fourth-place East Troy (416), which also qualified for state as teams.

Darlington’s Josie Meister (+37, 107) was three strokes off forcing a playoff to get to state as an individual. Also playing in the meet were teammates Laura Weaver (109), Alexis Bridges (111), Sophie Wiegel (119) and Chance Lange (133). 

Jefferson’s Payton Schmidt was the medalist by 10 strokes, finishing with an 8-over par 78.
