Redbirds, Pec get wins; NG, Cards fall at home

BLANCHARDVILLE — In a battle of Vikings Feb. 10, the green and gold Vikings of Pecatonica picked up a nonconference win over their blue counterparts in Parkview, 33-31.

Pecatonica trailed by two at halftime but outscored Parkview 21-17 in the second half. 

Lexi Peterson led the Pecatonica with 11 points, while teammate Sydney Eaton added seven. Jenna Olin scored 16 for Parkview.


Darlington 45, Southwestern 35

HAZEL GREEN — The Redbirds went up by five at halftime and kept pace in the second half to score a SWAL victory Feb. 11.

Brenna McDonald had 15 points to lead Darlington, while teammate Allison Thompson added six. Ten total Redbirds scored in the game. Darlington forced 20 turnovers.

Alisa Ramaker and Hannah Lacey each scored nine points to pace the Wildcats.


Marshall 75, New Glarus 44

MARSHALL — The Glarner Knights went down by 21 at halftime to the two-time defending WIAA Division 3 state champion Cardinals. 

Wisconsin-Milwaukee commit Anna Lutz scored 34 to lead Marshall, which received 14 points from Laura Nickel and 13 from Abby Ward.

Dylan Noll and Brooke Watrud each had eight for New Glarus, while Jaylynn Benson had seven. Emma Marty and Shealyn Klosterman-Havens each had six for the Knights.


Whitewater 52, Brodhead 45

BRODHEAD — The Cardinals scored just 12 points in the first half and couldn’t recover in their Feb. 11 Rock Valley Conference loss to the Whippets.

Abby Giogiske scored 21 points to lead Whitewater, with 12 coming off of four 3-pointers. Teammate Kacie Carollo added 12 and Alyssa Schumacher had 10.

Kylie Moe led Brodhead with 17 points and three 3s. Freshman Abbie Dix finished with 12 points.
