DARLINGTON — Trailing 7-3 to Boscobel going into the top of the seventh, Darlington mounted a comeback, scoring two runs. Its effort fell short, though, as the Bulldogs held on for the 7-5 win on Monday, April 10.

In the three-hole, Reagan Jackson went 2-for-3 with two RBIs to propel the offense. Breylin Goebel also recorded two hits to go with his walk. Gage Banfield suffered the loss, giving up five earned runs in five innings. Although he struck out seven batters, he walked six.

Darlington rebounded for a 12-1 win over Southwestern on Tuesday, April 11 with a seven-run fifth.

The Redbirds three hitter, Goebel, went 2-for-3 at the plate with two doubles and three RBIs. Leadoff hitter Tye Crist and six-hole hitter Banfield also recorded two hits each. With their singles, Barrett Vieth and Riggs Black drove in two runs apiece. 

Jackson picked up the win, scattering four hits for one run. He and relief pitcher Goebel struck out three batters each. 


PECATONICA 4, BELLEVILLE 1

PECATONICA 11, ARGYLE 1

BLANCHARDVILLE — The Vikings outscored their opponents 15-2 in two games to improve to 5-0 on the season.

Pecatonica had a balanced offense against Argyle on Tuesday, April 11, receiving hits from six different people. Max Steele and Charles Anderson had the timely hits, plating two and three runs, respectively. Anderson and Jameson Johnson accounted for the only extra-base hits of the game.

Coy Ruegsegger got the win on the bump, going 4 2/3 innings. He struck out nine and gave up just three hits.

Two of those hits came from Garrett Phillipson, while Thomas Nelson collected the RBI on a bases loaded walk. Max Godfrey suffered the loss in the circle. He allowed six runs on two hits in 3 1/3 innings pitched. He struck out nine and walked four.

On Monday, April 10, Johnson propelled the offense against Belleville, going 3-for-3 at the plate. He hit two singles with a homerun and plated two runs while scoring two. Johnson also picked up the win on the bump, going 4 1/3 innings. He allowed just three hits while striking out seven batters.


MILTON 13, MONROE 0

STOUGHTON 8, MONROE 2

STOUGHTON — The Cheesemakers and Vikings were tied at two until Stoughton put up a six spot in the bottom of the sixth to secure the win. That inning, Monroe committed four errors.

Landon Stelter was 2-for-3 at the plate with an RBI to lead the offense. Drew Indergand reached base in all three of his at-bats, recording a single and two walks. George Brukwicki suffered the loss, giving up just one earned run on six hits. He struck out seven and walked two.

On Monday, April 10, Milton jumped on Monroe early, scoring eight runs in the first and four more in the second.

Tucker Markham recorded two of the Cheesemakers’ three hits. The remaining hit came from Keatin Sweeney. Three other batters reached base on walks. Ethan Rosenstiel and Braden Rupnow pitched two innings each. Collectively, they gave up just two earned runs.


BRODHEAD-JUDA 7, BIG FOOT 3

WALWORTH — Kohen Sawle’s 3-for-3 performance at the plate pushed the Cardinals past the Chiefs on Tuesday, April 11. 

The third baseman accounted for half of Brodhead-Juda’s hit and plated three of its seven runs. Aidyn Vondra, Gabe Bockhop and Ryan Searls reached base with multiple walks, and Vondra added another two stolen bases to his total. Evan Senobe recorded the win, throwing 5 1/3 innings. He gave up two earned runs on four hits and struck out 10 batters.


NEW GLARUS 6, LAKE MILLS 4

NEW GLARUS — The Knights put an end to the L-Cats seventh-inning come-back effort by turning a double play to secure their season-opening win.

The top of the lineup in Leyton and Ashlin Mihlbauer generated offense for New Glarus, as Leyton reached base via walk in all of his plate appearances. Ashlin went 2-for-4 at the plate. Easton Dreyfus had the only extra-base hit with a third-inning double, while Ethan Friedrich drove in two runs.

Patrick Alt picked up the win on the bump, throwing three innings. He scattered four hits for one run, striking out two batters. 


BARNEVELD 12, MONTICELLO-ALBANY 2

BARNEVELD — The Ponies nearly staved off the run-rule in the fifth, scoring two runs with a runner on third, but were unable to push the third run across in its conference loss on Tuesday, April 11.

Cody Pryce led the offense, going 1-for-3 at the plate, driving in both runs. Carson Gafner accounted for Monticello-Albany’s second hit. Tyler Patchen suffered the loss, allowing four earned runs in the first inning.
