Raiders win 4-1, Cheese lose 8-0

BELLEVILLE — The Sugar River Raiders scored a 4-1 win over Lodi April 13.

Ryan Downing had two goals for the Raiders, including the first goal just 2:05 into the contest. 

In the second half, Breckin Faber made it 2-0 in the 64th minute, and Downing’s second goal came about 6 minutes later. Lodi got on the board in the 71st minute on a score by Bailey Clark, but Sugar River’s Aiden Hatleberg made it 4-1 with a goal of his own in the 82nd minute.

Ben Lukszys and Gavin Boyum each had assists for the Raiders, and Cam Kleiboer saved four shots in net. The Raiders outshot the Devils 15-6 in the game, including an 11-5 mark of shots on goal. Sugar River added 6 corners to Lodi’s 2.


Beaver Dam 8, Monroe 0

MONROE — The Cheesemakers allowed four goals in each half to the Golden Beavers. 

Ian Conlin had a hat trick for Beaver Dam, which outshot Monroe on goal 18-4.

Up next for the Cheesemakers was a match April 15 at home against Fort Atkinson, with another game April 20 at home against Waunakee upcoming.
