BELLEVILLE — The Sugar River Raiders defeated Lakeside Lutheran 7-3 Sept. 9.

Aiden Hatleberg scored the first two goals of the game, only for Lakeside Lutheran to tie it at 2-2 by halftime. In the second half, Ryan Downing scored three straight goals to give the Raiders a commanding lead. Carter Siegenthaler and Gavin Boyum also scored in the second half to put Sugar River up 7-2 before a late LL goal capped the scoring.

Hatleberg, Downing and Ryan Hagen each had two assists for the Raiders.

Sugar River is tied atop the Capitol table at 2-0 in league play. Up next for the Raiders is Columbus (Sept. 14) and Platteville Lancaster (Sept. 16), before welcoming co-leader Lake Mills to town on Sept. 21.

In other area action on the pitch, Edgewood defeated Monroe 7-0 at Reddan Park Sept. 9. 

The Cheesemakers (0-3-2) were set to host Reedsburg Sept. 14 and then Fort Atkinson Sept. 16 in Badger crossover games.
