Pec rolls RV; Argyle, Brodhead fall late

BLANCHARDVILLE — Pecatonica knocked off River Valley April 16 in a nonconference game 11-1 at McKellar Park.

Leadoff hitter Tyler McKeon reached safely all four plate appearances, scoring twice and adding a steal. Elijah Knutson had two hits, as did Coy Ruegsegger. Ruegsegger and Carson Kurschner each scored twice.

Hunter Enloe pitched three innings, allowing three hits, two walks and a run while striking out eight. McKeon pitched the final two innings, striking out four.

Jefferson 4, Brodhead-Juda 2

BRODHEAD — The Cardinals led 2-0 after the first inning, but could not string together enough hits to drive in some more runs in an April 15 Rock Valley loss to visiting Jefferson.

In the opening frame, Brady Malkow scored on a hit from Gabe Bockhop, who then scored on a hit from David Mazloski. Mazloski and Clayton Elliot each had two hits for the Cardinals.

Cooper Woelky pitched five innings for Brodhead-Juda, allowing five hits and four walks. Just one of the two runs against him were earned. Mason Kammerer came on in relief in the sixth and allowed two runs on a hit and a walk. Evan Senobe pitched a scoreless seventh for the Cardinals.

Palmyra-Eagle 10, Argyle 3

ARGYLE — The Orioles dropped a nonconference game April 16. 

Palmyra-Eagle scored a run in the top of the second and fourth, but a 3-run fourth inning by Argyle put the home team ahead by a run. Palmyra-Eagle then put up crooked numbers in each of the final three innings.

Max Godfrey was tagged with the loss, giving up six runs (five earned) in six innings. Buddy Gerber gave up four runs (one earned) in the seventh.

At the dish, Thomas Nelson and Brady Penniston each had two hits for Argyle.
