Soccer Ball

OREGON — The Cheesemakers felt the heavy hand of one of the state’s top teams April 18, losing to Oregon 13-0 in a Badger South game.

The Panthers, last year’s runner up at state, were ranked second in the state in Division 2 according to the Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Association, one spot behind Whitefish Bay.

The Cheesemakers are still trying to figure out the goalie situation, as projected starter Anna Latimer has been out with an injury to open the spring season. Kyle Ziolkowski had seven saves and gave up 10 goals in 39 minutes to Oregon. Maggie Curtis also gave it a go in the net, allowing three goals while saving three shots.

The Panthers (4-0, 2-0) are currently tied for first place in the Badger South. Monroe (0-6-1, 0-2) is tied for last.
