HIGHLAND — The Argyle Orioles won the Six Rivers Volleyball Tournament at Highland on Saturday Aug. 30 to start their season 4-0. The Orioles won in two sets over Albany, 25-21 and 25-12, then defeated River Ridge in two sets, 25-13 and 25-18. The Orioles advanced to the gold bracket and won over Barneveld 24-26, 25-11, 15-11 and Highland 25-23, 21-25, 15-11. 

For the Orioles in the tournament, Kyle Butler had 47 kills, 39 digs, and 4 aces. Brooke Wellnitz had 38 kills, 33 digs, and 5 blocks. Claire Holmes registered 14 kills and 4 aces. Avari Steiner racked up 93 assists, 5 aces, and 26 digs. Lexi Wonders contributed three kills and three blocks, while Brynn Harris had 52 digs. 

Argyle hosted Black Hawk on Sept. 2 and traveled to Barneveld Sept. 4 in Six Rivers Conference action.
