MONROE — The Fury outshot Onalaska 45-38 on Senior Night, held Jan. 26, but fell 5-3 in the nonconference affair. Monroe’s Cammi Ganshert is a four-year player for the Fury, while Milton’s Ella Silha has played on the co-op for three seasons.

Rock County jumped out to a 2-0 lead 8:30 into the game after goals by Alyssa Knauf and Anika Einbeck. Abby Humphrey and Samantha Wells notched assists.

The Hilltoppers tied it up less than three minutes later, and took a 4-2 lead 6:43 into the second period.

A goal with just nine seconds left in the second by Alyssa Knauf, assisted by Haley Knauf and Humphrey, brought the score to 4-3 headed into the third.

Onalaska’s final goal game on an empty net with 1:16 left to play in the third.

Onalaska’s Kiya Bronston had a hat trick and an assist, and Kaley Manglitz had two goals and three assists. Both teams had three penalties for six minutes.

Olivia Cronin had 33 saves in goal for the Fury, who drop to 11-7-2 on the season. Onalaska improves to 9-9-1. 

Rock County has just four games left in the regular season, with a road game at Sun Prairie Jan. 31 and a home bout against Viroqua at Beloit Feb. 2.
