O’Bel picks Northern State University

ALBANY — Kristin O’Bel, an Albany senior, recently signed a National Letter of Intent to run track and field at Northern State University in Aberdeen, South Dakota.

O’Bel has excelled in three years with the Comets. In 2019 she was a member of Albany’s state-qualifying 1,600-meter relay team. As a freshman in 2017, she reached the state meet on the 3,200-meter relay team. In cross country, O’Bel finished 48th this past fall at the Boscobel sectional.

Northern State University offers 38 majors and 42 minors and is home to about 3,600 students. The Wolves compete in the 13 intercollegiate sports and is a member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference, which includes schools such as Winona State, Upper Iowa and Bemidji State.
