Darlington 49, Benton-Scales Mound-Shullsburg 13

After a slow start in Week 5, the Redbirds scored 27 points in the second quarter to take a 34-6 halftime lead and beat Benton-Scales Mound-Shullsburg 49-13 SWAL action on Friday, Sept. 18. 

Quarterback Zeke Zuberbuhler ran for three touchdowns and passed for another in the win for the Redbirds. Overall, third-ranked Darlington had six rushing TDs. 

The Redbirds (5-0, 3-0 SWAL) will face undefeated and ninth-ranked Fennimore (5-0, 3-0) on the road on Sept. 26. 


Belleville 33, Mineral Point 14

Treyton Myers rushed for 104 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Belleville Wildcats to a 33-14 win over the Mineral Point Pointers in Week 5. 

Belleville led 14-0 after one quarter, but Pointers QB Liam Carey threw two touchdown passes to Thorin Vamstad in the second quarter to pull Mineral Point to within a touchdown at 21-14 at halftime. The Wildcats shut out the Pointers the rest of the way to get the win. 

Belleville (3-3, 3-0 SWAL) will travel to Hazel Green to face Southwestern-East Dubuque (1-4, 0-3) in a Week 6 SWAL matchup.


Parkview-Albany 42, Dodgeland 6

The Parkview-Albany Vikings beat the Dodgeland Trojans in a Trailways Conference game on Sept. 19 at Orfordville. The win snapped a two-game losing streak for the Vikings. 

Parkview-Albany (2-3, 1-2) meets Cambria-Friesland in another Trailways Conference home game for the Vikings on Friday.


Wauzeka-Steuben/Seneca 28, Pecatonica-Argyle 0

The ninth-ranked Wauzeka-Steuben/Seneca Hornets ran their record to 5-0 with a 28-0 win over the Pecatonica-Argyle Vikings in a Six Rivers game Sept. 19 at Seneca. For the Vikings, it was the third time they’ve been shutout this season. 

Pecatonica-Argyle (1-4, 1-2) will host Riverdale (0-5, 0-3) in a Week 6 conference game on Saturday, Sept. 27 at Blanchardville.
