NG routs Waterloo; Juda scares Albany

NEW GLARUS — The Glarner Knights wrapped up their third consecutive undefeated Capitol South season with a 94-62 romp over Waterloo Feb. 18.

New Glarus (20-2) led 52-30 at halftime. In first meeting of the two schools this year, the Knights scored 100 points.

Five New Glarus players scored in double figures, with Jaden Kreklow leading the way with 22. Trevor Gassman had 21, Zach Feller 13, Mason Martinson 12 and Mitch Schadewalt 10.


Parkview 82, Black Hawk 74

ORFORDVILLE — The Warriors had four players in double figures, while the host Vikings had five in their nonconference game Feb. 18.

Conner Meyer led Black Hawk with 23 points, while Kyle Lovelace had 17, Colby Argall 13 and Avery Baumgartner 10. Eli Hoscheit led Parkview with 24 points. Aydon Campbell had 16, Justin Balch 13 and Adrian Meza and Jarrett Brown each finished with 10.

Parkview led 37-29 at halftime and both teams scored 45 points over the final 18 minutes of regulation.

Evansville 74, Brodhead 53

BRODHEAD — Dawson Van Whye scored 15 points and had six rebounds for Brodhead, but the Cardinals fell behind early against the Blue Devils and never recovered.

Evansville led 42-18 at halftime and never let the Cardinals crawl back into the game.

Sulley Geske led the Blue Devils with 24 points, while Davonte McAliser had 13 points and Seth Maag 10. Brodhead’s Cody Malcook had nine and Dawson McGinty finished with seven.

Brodhead was 6-for-18 from 3-point land, while Evansville was 7-for-20. The biggest difference in the game was rebounding, where the Blue Devils out-boarded the Cardinals 35-23. Evansville was 32-for-62 from the field and Brodhead was just 13 of 32.


Albany 66, Juda 65

ALBANY — The Panthers spent the first 18 games of the season unable to net a win. Then they were two points away from making it back-to-back Ws.

Gavin Kammerer was one of four Juda players in double figures against Albany Feb. 18. Dominic Taylor, Avery Sheaffler and Dogukan Yetgin each scored 12 for Juda, which had just won its first game of the season two days before against Argyle.

In other area action, Potosi dominated Pecatonica 67-36 Feb. 18, while Iowa-Grant topped Argyle the same night 59-35.
