MONROE — The Monroe Cheesemakers won the Valley Division of the Rock Valley Conference All-Sports Championships, having at least one conference championship team each season. The award is based on a point system for team success throughout the school year and averaged out based on the number of sports offered.
In volleyball, Monroe finished tied for third with a 2-6 record. In the large Rock Valley Conference cross country meet, both the boys and girls teams finished first. In football, Monroe went undefeated in winning its third straight conference title.
In the winter sports, Monroe boys basketball won the RVC-Valley with a 12-2 record. The girls basketball team did not record a conference win. In the large 11-team Rock Valley wrestling tournament, Monroe finished third.
The spring was just as successful as the fall with three conference championship teams in boys golf, boys track and girls track. Softball finished second with a 9-5 record, while baseball finished fourth with a 4-10 record. Boys tennis was near the top of the conference, earning six points, and girls soccer was in the middle of the pack with a 3-5-1 record.
