In the second go-round, Monroe led 15-10 at halftime, but outscored Watertown 27-17 in the second half to secure the victory.

Sydney Hilliard scored a game-high 17 points, while Emily Benzschawel had nine and Megan Benzschawel seven. Watertown (12-5, 6-3 Badger South) was without a player in double figures and finished 25 points below its season average and 12 points under its previous low-score of the year.

Wauzeka-Steuben 89, Argyle 84

WAUZEKA — The tenth-ranked Orioles trailed eighth-ranked Wauzeka-Steuben 40-35 at halftime and didn’t quit the rest of the game Jan. 26.

“This was one of the absolute best games we have played all season. It was just like a tournament game,” Argyle coach Nicole Allison said.

Wauzeka-Steuben freshman Maddy Reichmann led all-scorers with 35 points.

“The first half Jena Saalsaa dominated. Wauzeka-Steuben struggled to have an answer for her. They have a freshman phenomenon that put up 35 points and we kept fresh defenders on her all game,” Allison said. “The difference maker was they were able to capitalize on a few more and-1 baskets than we did.”
