EDGERTON — Monroe pulled out another conference win on Tuesday, Sept. 12, despite rain postponing the conclusion of the No. 2 doubles match. The Cheesemakers completed six of seven matches and won five of those.
“It was a great day from our singles lineup,” Monroe head coach Matt Bordner said. “They all play exceptionally well and set the tone for the whole day. We were working on having faster starts to matches, and it was great to see us take our practice habits and apply them to our matches.”
● No. 1 singles: Lindsay Leuzinger won 6-0, 6-0
● No. 2 singles: Kate Kundert won 6-2, 6-1
● No. 3 singles: Adeline Eckerman won 6-2, 6-0
● No. 4 singles: Ryan Dahlman won 6-0, 6-0
● No. 1 doubles: Emma Tran and Brooke Hanson lost 6-1, 6-1
● No. 3 doubles: Layla Pallesen and Rylee Svendson won 6-4, 6-2
No. 2 doubles partners Delaney Fortney and Sydney Wunschel won the first set 6-4 and trailed 4-3 in the second set before rain postponed the match. Tentatively, this match will be made up Tuesday, Sept. 19. Monroe travels to East Troy, while Edgerton has a bye. The Crimson Tide would send its No. 2 doubles team to East Troy to play the Cheesemakers’ duo following their match with the Trojans.
