WATERTOWN — The Cheesemakers lost a tough conference dual at Watertown Dec. 18, 46-28.
Monroe gave up one forfeit worth six points, but the Goslings won 8 of the 13 wrestled matches.
The Cheesemakers scored its first win in the fifth match when Alex Witt pinned Dylan Sippel at the 1:49 mark during the 170-pound match. Two matches later Julian Gruber (195) won a 12-2 major decision over Carson Triplett for Monroe’s second victory.
In the heavyweight division, Bodie Minder pinned Watertown’s Alex Nachtigall at 5:19, and the next match, 106, Monroe freshman Brady Schuh pinned Emilio Hernandez in 1:37. Monroe’s last win came at 112, where Kyle Haldiman pinned Mason Fritsche at the 3:50 mark.
With the dual tied at 28-28, the Cheesemakers lost the final three matches at 120-, 126-, and 132-pounds, all by pinfall.
