EVANSVILLE — The Cheesemakers’ girls soccer team was defeated by Evansville 5-0 in the opening round of the WIAA Division 3 playoffs June 10.

The Blue Devils led 2-0 at halftime. Chinna Hermenson scored twice for Evansville. Emma Stuart, Taylor Acker and Jaden LeRoy also scored. Acker, Megan Christens Sydeny Vine and Makenzie Halla each had an assist. 

Evansville’s Katie Krueger was perfect in goal. Monroe ended the season 1-9 overall. Evansville went on to beat Platteville-Lancaster in the regional final June 12. The Blue Devils will travel to Sugar River in the sectional semifinal June 17.
