MCFARLAND — The Monroe/New Glarus girls swim team came through with a strong performance at the Badger Small Conference Relay Meet at McFarland on Aug. 28, earning a third place team finish against strong competition from Edgewood and McFarland.

The underclassmen swam well and improved since their first meet at the DeForest Invite. Bella Miranda, Kennedy Sysko, and Lauren Zentner each notched two top-two finishes for the Cheese Knights, while Kennedy Shunk added another top-two finish. The meet was fast-paced with minimal rest between events, yet the girls rose to the challenge. Their support for one another was evident throughout the night, and their ability to step up in back-to-back races and cheer for one another played a key role in the team’s overall finish.
