MHS trips Fort; BH smokes Barneveld

FORT ATKINSON — The Cheesemakers improved to 2-2 with a 50-31 win over Fort Atkinson Dec. 6.

Megan Benzschawel led Monroe with 13 points, while Grace Tostrud had 11, Taylor Jacobson 9 and Grace Mathiason eight.

Monroe led 22-18 at halftime, but used a 28-13 run in the second half to pull away from the Blackhawks.


Black Hawk 86, Barneveld 41

BARNEVELD — The Warriors broke the game open in the first half, outscoring the Eagles 51-24 before halftime of their Dec. 6 Six Rivers East game.

Maddy Huschitt had the hot hand for Black Hawk, scoring 23 points. She finished 7 of 14 from beyond the arc. Kaylee Marty finished with 15 points, Bailey Butler had 14 and Natalie Leuzinger and Tara Wellnitz each had nine. 

Butler, a UW-Green Bay commit, is just 30 points away from joining the 1,000-point scoring club.


Albany 64, Monticello 33

MONTICELLO — The Comets led 35-19 at halftime of their Dec. 6 Six Rivers East game.

Mackie Errthum and Miah Brokopp each scored 10 points for Monticello.


Argyle 62, Pecatonica 58

BLANCHARDVILLE — The Orioles led by just one at halftime and held on down the stretch in their Six Rivers East win Dec. 6.

McKenzee Granberg had 14 points for Argyle. Teammate Allie Godfrey had nine.

Sydney Eaton had 12 for Pecatonica, while Lexi Peterson finished with 11.


Lodi 53, New Glarus 51, OT

NEW GLARUS — The Knights led by three at halftime, but fell in the Capitol Conference crossover Dec. 6.

Jaylynn Benson scored 18 to lead New Glarus, while teammate Dylan Noll finished with 16. Lodi’s Lauryn Milne scored 26 points.


Brodhead 63, Clinton 53

BRODHEAD — The Cardinals went up by 11 at halftime on their way to a Rock Valley Conference win Dec. 5.

Abbie Dix had a double-double, scoring 26 points and grabbing 13 rebounds.


Darlington 58, Iowa-Grant 36

DARLINGTON — Laura Sturtz led the Redbirds with 12 points in a Dec. 5 SWAL win over the Panthers.

Eleven Darlington players scored in the game. The Redbirds led 29-23 at halftime and outscored Iowa-Grant 29-13 in the second half.
