MHS knocks off Edgerton 5-2
tennis stock

The Monroe Boys Tennis played its most competitive match of the season versus Edgerton, earning a tough 5-2 conference win.

“We had some intense matches, including 2 Singles Alex Gerrits winning 13-11 during a super tiebreak,” said Monroe coach Matt Bordner. “His match lasted almost three hours. Three-doubles also went into a supertiebreaker, securing a 10-6 victory. Two-doubles completely owned their court, which was extremely important as we lost No. 2 doubles to Edgerton earlier in the season. Matthew and Allen both held on in their matches to round out a big 5-2 win after losing to Edgerton 2-5 to start the season.”

The Cheesemakers are now 12-7 overall and 5-0 in conference. Monroe was scheduled to host Jefferson May 15 for another conference dual and senior night.
