MONROE — The Cheesemakers were close to pulling out a victory in just their second game of the season, instead Dodgeville-Mineral Point pulled away with a 2-goal second half to win 2-1.

Monroe scored less than four minutes into the nonconference game held Aug. 29 at Honey Creek Park when Alessandro Chagoya put the ball into the back of the net.

That lead held until the final 12 minutes of the game when Dodgeville-Mineral Point scored two goals in a four-minute span.

The Cheesemakers took 15 shots, including four on goal in the game. Monroe keeper Julio Vasquez had 10 saves in net.

BEAVER DAM — Charlie Douma had a breakaway goal and Ryan Downing had another for the Raiders, but it wasn’t enough in the end against the Beavers Aug. 29.

In the first half Beaver Dam put two shots past Sugar River goalie Julian Lutz. The Raiders scored twice in the second half, but so did the Beavers.

Sugar River outshot Beaver Dam 10-7.
