MHS, Belleville volleyball falls; Brodhead wins

WAUNAKEE — The Cheesemakers were swept by Waunakee April 6.

Senior setter Katie Hayes led Monroe with 10 assists and 2 blocks.

Monroe (1-7) was set to play at Mount Horeb April 8, then will return to Mount Horeb April 10 for the spring tournament regional playoffs.


Brodhead 3, Edgerton 0

EDGERTON — The Cardinals blanked the Tide April 8, winning 25-23, 25-15, 25-23.

Alexis Kammerer had 30 assists, 13 digs, a block, an ace and 3 kills to lead Brodhead. Abbie Dix added 18 kills, 3 blocks and 14 digs. McKenna Young finished the night with 17 digs, 7 kills and a block. Madisyn Kail and Onni Oliver each had two aces.

Brodhead had just five missed serves on the night, finishing with a 93.2% service rate. 

The Cardinals will host its regional tournament April 10.


Wisconsin Heights 3, Belleville 2

BELLEVILLE — It was another wild one for the Wildcats, which lost to the Vangards 26-24, 20-25, 23-25, 25-19, 11-15 on April 5.

Ava Foley had 17 kills, 4 aces and 11 digs for Belleville. Callie Smith finished with 8 kills and 13 blocks. Brooke Everson tallied 17 blocks, while Melanie Humke had 14 blocks, Josey Latorre 16 assists and Kenna Edge 11 assists.

Belleville (7-7) will play rival New Glarus in the regional semifinal at 4 p.m. April 10 in Cuba City.
