MONROE — The Cheesemakers gave up four goals in the first half and couldn’t recover in a 6-0 loss to Monona Grove Sept. 17.
The Silver Eagles scored just 47 seconds into the game and made it 2-0 less than two minutes later. Monroe was set up for a scoring opportunity late in the 34th minute with a cross coming to the top of the MG goal box. Monroe’s Jake Grebner went up against MG’s Exander Rains for a header but missed. The Silver Eagles took over possession, rushed downfield and scored against Cheesemaker goalkeeper Julio Vasquez at the 34:13 mark.
The Silver Eagles added another goal nine minutes later.
Vasquez finished with 10 saves in 45 minutes, playing the first half in net. Aidan Lambert took over in the second half and had 12 saves.
Brian Guzman and Alex Barradas had shots on goal for Monroe, while Alex Torres had two.
The Cheesemakers (1-6, 0-2 Badger South) had a scheduled home game against Cambridge-Deerfield Sept. 12. Monroe’s next home game isn’t scheduled until Oct. 8, with road games at Edgewood, Stoughton, River Valley and Sauk Prairie between the two home games.
Sugar River 10, Hustisford-Dodgeland 0
BELLEVILLE — Ryan Downing scored four goals and Carter Siegenthaler had three as the Raiders dominated Hustisford-Dodgeland Sept. 17.
Sugar River went up 9-0 in the first half, with Ben Lukszys, Charlie Douma, Noah Ziperski, Downing and Siegenthaler all scoring goals in the first half. Siegenthaler and Downing had hat tricks in the opening 45 minutes.
In the mercy-shortened second half, Downing added another goal to give his squad double-digits.
Julian Lutz had five saves in goal in 45 minutes for the Raiders, with backup Cam Kleighboer netting a save in 20 minutes of action.
