SOUTH WAYNE — With double-double performances from Maddy Lange and Maddy Place, Black Hawk came from behind to defeat Brodhead 48-43. The Cardinals had led much of the first half before going into the locker room tied with the Warriors 23-23.
Lange and Place scored 19 and 17 points, respectively, with 14 and 10 rebounds. The Warriors outrebounded the Cardinals 48-22, as Reese Anderson also had double-digit boards (12).
Reigning Rock Valley-Rock Offensive Player of the Allie Dahl did everything in her power for her team to win, scoring 25 points with eight rebounds. But she had little support from teammates, as Chesney was the next highest scorer and rebounder with five points and six rebounds.
JANESVILLE PARKER 51, MONROE 30
JANESVILLE — With just half the number of attempts and makes as the Vikings, the Cheesemakers suffered a nonconference loss on Dec. 17.
Despite the loss, seven different players scored for Monroe, led by Alexis Gertch with seven points. She and Brinley Roidt snagged five rebounds each.
ARGYLE-PECATONICA 71, EVANSVILLE 41
EVANSVILLE — Wellnitz recorded her sixth double-double in a 30-point win over the Blue Devils on Dec. 17 — but this time she had more rebounds than points. In a strange turn of events, Wellnitz scored 17 points and grabbed a career-high 26 rebounds.
Kylie Butler led the offense with 29 points all from inside the arc. Loretta Tisch chipped in 15 points and seven rebounds.
Argyle-Pecatonica continues to move up in the ranks, coming in at No. 7 in Division 4 per the latest WisSports.net Coaches Poll.

LIVINGSTON — Dominating the Panthers in all statistical categories except offensive rebounds (13-4), the Redbirds pulled out a SWAL win Dec. 17. The victory keeps Darlington on pace with Cuba City atop the league standings at 4-0.
Maddie Gratz was one of three players in double figures with 17 points. Sadie Goebel chipped in 13 and Lylah Norgard scored 10. Gratz and Goebel also led on the boards with six rebounds each.
In other local girls basketball, New Glarus suffered a 78-47 nonconference loss to Shullsburg, ranked No. 6 in Division 5. Belleville defeated Dodgeville 64-29.
