EVANSVILLE — New Glarus boys basketball opened its season with a 69-53 win over Evansville on Saturday, Nov. 25, draining 10 3-pointers.

Three Knights finished in double figures, led by Breckyn Thompson with 15 points. The junior sank four 3s, two other shots from the field and made one free throw. Brett Warrell was the second-highest scorer with 13 points. He made three 3-pointers, three other shots from the field and one free throw, too. Cade Thayer tallied 10 points.

Thompson and Warrell accounted for seven of New Glarus’s 3-pointers. The other three came from Jake Roth (2) and Charlie Sarbacker (1). 

Evansville’s offense ran through five players, with four of them in double figures. Mathew Wickersham led the Blue Devils with 13 points and three 3-pointers.
