NEW GLARUS — The Knights scored a victory over rival Belleville Dec. 22, winning 71-64.
Nathan Streiff and Mason Martinson led New Glarus with 17 points apiece, while Carter Siegenthaler dropped 16 on the Wildcats and Dain Walter fought his way for 13 points in the post. The Knights hit seven 3s, including six in the first half, and finished the night 12-for-21 from the free throw line.
Trevor Syse led Belleville with 22 points, while Jack Erickson finished with 14 and Carson Syse added 13. The Wildcats had nine 3s in the game and finished 13 of 22 from the charity stripe.
New Glarus rushed out to a 34-21 lead at halftime, thanks to four 3-pointers by Siegenthaler and two more from Streiff. The Wildcats caught fire in the second half, scoring 43 points, but the comeback was not enough.
East Troy 100, Brodhead 47
EAST TROY — On Dec. 21, the Trojans led 55-18 at halftime and it only got worse from there for the Cardinals.
Ranked fifth in Division 3, East Troy had three players with more than 20 points. Colin Terpstra led the way with 30 points, while Ryan Nixon had 24 and Chase Cummings added 20.
Cade Walker led Brodhead with 15 points, and Owen Leifker chipped in 10.
Monticello 63, Randolph 45
MONTICELLO — The Ponies got a bit of revenge on the fourth-ranked Rockets Dec. 21. Randolph ended Monticello’s playoff run last season in what was ultimately the final game before the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic wiped out play.
Peter Gustafson paced the Ponies with 27 points, while Owen Ace, Logan Blum and Rudy Wicker all added 8. Gustafson has scored more than 23 points in every game this season.
Travis Alvin paced Randolph with 18 points, and Sam Grieger had 15.
Monticello led 32-21 at halftime, and outscored the Rockets 31-24 in the second half to cap the decisive victory. The Ponies are 7-0 on the season.
Dodgeville 70, Black Hawk 61
SOUTH WAYNE — The Warriors let a 5-point halftime lead go in a nonconference loss to the Dodgers Dec. 22.
Black Hawk led 38-33 at the break, but Dodgeville went on a 37-23 run over the final 18 minutes to snag the victory.
Dillon Garthwaite had 20 points to lead the Dodgers, with teammates Austin Montague and Matthew Pittz each adding 15.
Clayton Stietz led Black Hawk with 17 points, while Elijah Shelton had 16 and Payton Troemel added 10.
