NEW GLARUS — The Glarner Knights swept Wisconsin Heights March 30, 25-21, 25-20, 25-19.

Grace Nommensen had 8 kills and 13 assists for New Glarus. Emma Marty finished with 6 assists, 5 blocks and 5 digs. Amber Horn added 5 blocks and 5 kills. Lindsey Schadewalt picked up 2 aces, 4 kills and 9 assists, while Izzy Zimmerman had 10 digs and Carrah Bainbridge tallied 9 digs. 


Brodhead 3, Cuba City 1

CUBA CITY — The Cardinals scored a 22-25, 25-19, 25-17, 25-19 win over the Cubans March 30.

Brodhead served 93.8% from the service line and had 12 aces to just six missed serves as a team. The Cardinals also knocked down 54 kills and 7 blocks, and collected 108 digs collectively. Five different Brodhead players had double digit digs for the match.

Abbie Dix finished the night with 24 kills, 3 blocks, 5 aces and 16 digs. Alexis Kammerer had 2 aces, 52 assists, 16 digs, 2 blocks and 3 kills. McKenna Young notched 3 aces, 9 kills, 4 blocks and 4 digs. Onni Oliver dug out 22 shots. Sabrina Siegel had 10 digs, 7 kills, 2 blocks and an ace. Madisyn Kail finished with 12 digs, an ace and 2 blocks. Addie Yates chipped in with 5 kills and 5 aces, and Kiarra Moe collected 2 blocks and 9 digs.


Belleville 3, Southwestern 1

BELLEVILLE — The home Wildcats defeated the visiting Wildcats in a tight non-conference match March 30, 26-24, 25-12, 22-25, 25-20.

Ava Foley and Callie Smith each had 11 kills for Belleville. Brooke Everson finished the night with a mesmerizing 18 blocks, while Katie Bowers added 11 more blocks at the net. Josey Latorre led Belleville with 3 aces, while Foley had 2. Latorre added 14 assists, while Foley had 16 digs. Kenna Edge dished out 10 assists of her own, and Mel Humke tallied 12 digs.

Belleville currently leads the Capitol Conference’s alternate season standings with a 5-2 mark in league play, a half of a game up on Poynette (5-3). Columbus is 6-4 in the conference, followed by Lodi (4-3) and New Glarus (5-4). Wisconsin Heights (1-3) and Cambridge (0-7) are out of contention for a league title.
