SOUTH WAYNE — The Black Hawk Schools track and field facility recently was provided an upgrade to their shot put area thanks to Grede, a foundry facility located in Browntown.

“Thanks to the generosity of Grede, we were able to convert our grass landing area to a crushed limestone which makes the facility much more up-to-date, cleaner and easier on our facility maintenance crew,” said Eric Erickson, athletic director and track and field coach at Black Hawk. “As we host several meets during the season here, it’s nice to have an area we can be proud of and that wouldn’t have been possible without the support and generosity of Grede.

The work was completed by recent Black Hawk alum, Owen Huschitt owner and project manager of Pinnacle Landscape Service.
