MONROE — The Fury dropped a 2-1 decision to Sun Prairie Jan. 15 in the fourth meeting between the two squads this season. The season series is now tied at 2-2.

Sun Prairie scored twice in the second period, pinning the Fury behind.

In the third, Albany senior Alyssa Knauf brought the puck up ice on a breakaway, drawing a penalty and a power play opportunity. During the power play, Knauf sent a pass behind the net to fellow senior Kylie Evans, who then took a shot at goal. Monroe senior Anika Einbeck was perfectly positioned to send the rebound past the goalie, lighting the lamp for the Fury’s lone goal of the night.

The Fury could not get the equalizer, even after pulling goalie Olivia Cronin with 90 seconds left in the game and getting multiple shots on net. Olivia Cronin finished the night with 32 saves in net.

The rubber match for the two was scheduled for Jan. 19 at SLICE, with the next four scheduled club games set to be on the road: A Stevens Point tournament Jan. 23-24, and then a contest at Fond du Lac Jan. 30.
