STEVENS POINT — The Fury U-19 girls hockey team went 1-2 over the weekend in a tournament at Stevens Point.

On Jan. 13, the Fury defeated the Stars 3-2 thanks to two second period goals from Monroe’s Anika Einbeck.

Amery Stuckey scored in the first period for the Fury, with Emma Kilgora and Olivia Combs credited with assists. In the second period, Einbeck scored one goal unassisted, and another with Alyssa Knauf and Samantha Wells assisting.

Also on Jan. 23, the Fury let a two-goal lead slip away in the third period and fell to the Ws, 3-2.

Alyssa Knauf scored both Fury goals, one in both the first and second periods. Einbeck assisted the second goal. The Fury outshot the Ws 42-26 in the game, but a late power play goal put the Ws on top.

The next day, the Fury lost to the Wildcats 4-3.

The Wildcats jumped out to a 3-0 lead after the first period, but an Einbeck goal in the second put the Fury on the board. Einbeck and Sarah Edler of Winslow each had power play goals in the third, but the Wildcats had scratched across another score to maintain the lead. Wells had two assists in the frame, and Einbeck also assisted on Edler’s goal.

The last scheduled game of the season for the Fury is Jan. 29 at Mequon against the Lakeshore Lightning. The co-op will not rejoin the WIAA this year in time for the playoffs.
