RIVER HILLS — With a 5-1 loss to the University School of Milwaukee on Tuesday, Jan. 3, the Rock County Fury entered a five-game losing streak. Prior to the lapse, the Fury were 5-3.
Both teams were scoreless in the first, despite a powerplay opportunity for the Wildcats. Milwaukee broke the game open in the second period, though, with a goal from Charlotte Fetherston. At the end of two periods, the Wildcats had a 3-0 lead. In the third period, Milwaukee extended its lead to 5-0 with goals from Ena Hines and Lily Valimont.
In the ninth minute of the third period, Claudia Boehlke ruined Molly Jex’s shutout with a goal. She received an assist from Lily Clark.
Rock County put 13 shots on Jex, with only one finding the back of the net. Conversely, the Wilcats pounded Traver with 42 shots on goal, 37 of which were saved. Hines led Milwaukee with three points from two goals and one assist.
