Einbeck, Knaufs shine for Team Wis.

Team Wisconsin finished second at the USA Hockey America’s Showcase in St. Peters, Missouri, held April 11-14. Monroe’s Anika Einbeck and Albany’s Haley and Alyssa Knauf competed for Team Wisconsin.

ST. PETERS, Missouri — In girls hockey, Team Wisconsin finished runners up in America’s Showcase, a USA Hockey national tournament held April 11-14. 

Monroe’s Anika Einbeck and Albany’s Hailey and Alyssa Knauf are members of Team Wisconsin.

The 10 teams were divided into two pools, and Team Wisconsin defeated all four teams in its pool. First was a victory over Missouri 6-0, then Minnesota Green 2-1, Mid Am 11-0 and North Dakota 4-0. 

Team Wisconsin took on Colorado in the semifinals. It was a fast-paced game which Team Wisconsin won 3-0 to advance to the championship.

In the championship game, Minnesota White, also unbeaten, won 3-1.

Haley and Alyssa Knauf were tied in second as Team Wisconsin points leaders. Haley recorded five goals, one assist, and was named Player of the Game in the semifinal. Alyssa earned six assists in the tournament. 

Anika was in a five-way tie with five points in the tournament. She tallied four goals and one assist.
