EDGERTON — The Cardinals could do little to stop one of the top shooters in the state, as the Clayton Jenny and the Crimson Tide won 86-52 Jan. 22.

Jenny finished the night with 24 points and 13 rebounds, hitting 3 of 5 3-pointers in the process. The UW-Platteville commit is averaging 27.8 points per game this season, tied for sixth in the state.

Three other Edgerton players reached double figures in the scoring department: Konner Knauf, Drew Hanson and Connor Combs each had 16 points. Combs hit 5 of the 10 3s he attempted.

Owen Leifker led Brodhead with 14 points, while Josiah Engen finished with 11 and Brady Malkow 9.

CAMBRIDGE — In the battle for Capitol South supremacy, the Glarner Knights suffered a tough blow.

New Glarus trailed 37-36 at halftime, and the scoring slowed for both teams in the second half. Marshall (10-6, 5-1) now has a one-game lead on the Knights (11-5, 4-2) for the conference championship.

Albany 49, Juda 32

ALBANY — Clay Hulbert scored 16 points to pace the Comets, which picked up a welcomed Six Rivers East win Jan. 22 against the Panthers.

Albany (4-9, 3-4) led 20-16 at halftime, but outscored Juda 29-16 in the second half to seal the win. That’s where Hulbert did the majority of his damage, scoring 12 points after halftime.

Carson Brewer had 10 points, while Luke Johnson finished with 8 for Albany.

Aaron Makos led Juda with 11 points, and Ward Steinmann and Toby Hosch each had 9.

In other area boys basketball games, on Jan. 22, River Ridge defeated Pecatonica 56-41.
