CUBA CITY — The Darlington girls’ golf team is getting ready for the stretch run after carding a third-place finish with a round of 223 in the final conference mini-meet held at Cole Acres Country Club on Monday, Sept. 16.
Marissa Gould shot a 52 to lead the Redbirds. Josie Thomas followed with a 55 and Maggie Nordquist shot a 56 on the day, while Payton Gratz completed the team scoring with a 60.
Wisconsin Dells cruised to the team title with a score of 183 after their top four golfers all shot sub-50 rounds led by meet medalist Molly McClyman with a 7-over 43.
Lancaster was a distant second at 217.
Mount Horeb Triangular, Sept. 17
Darlington tied Mount Horeb with a score of 215, while Lancaster carded a collective 219 at the Norsk Golf Club.
Gould shot a 50, with Thomas carding a 53, Nordquist a 54, Brianna Gavinski a 58 and Gratz 62.
Mount Horeb’s Ellie Lombardo was a medalist with an 11-over-par 47.
Next up, Darlington will participate in the conference meet, which will be held at the Viroqua Hills Golf Course on Wednesday, Sept. 25, beginning at 9 a.m.
