SHULLSBURG — The Miners handed the Orioles a tough Six Rivers crossover loss Feb. 4.

SOUTH WAYNE — Hannah Butler scored 20 points and is now just seven away from 1,000 in her career.

The top-ranked and unbeaten Warriors (19-0) raced out to a 39-10 lead at halftime. Butler finished with eight rebounds, five steals and a perfect 6-for-6 mark from the free throw line. The junior would be second Black Hawk player this season to reach the 1,000-point milestone. Fellow junior Natalie Leuzinger, who reached it earlier this year, finished with 26 points on 11 of 14 shooting from the field, which included a 3-for-4 effort from beyond the arc.

Bailey Butler had nine points and Kaylee Marty scored seven for Black Hawk, which clinched — at minimum — a share of the Six Rivers East title.

Black Hawk’s nonconference game against Darlington, previously scheduled for Feb. 11, was cancelled due to Darlington’s Feb. 5 postponed game against Boscobel.
