Cheesemakers repeat as champs of RVC-Valley Division

Monroe clinched its second consecutive Rock Valley Conference (Valley) title on Wednesday, May 21.

JANESVILLE — For the second straight year, the Monroe Cheesemakers won the Rock Valley Conference Valley Division golf championship at Riverside Golf Course in Janesville on Wednesday, May 21. The Cheesemakers shot a 314 and placed fourth overall in the Rock Valley Conference. Brodhead shot a 364 and placed 10th. Edgerton was the top team overall with a 286. 

Junior Brock Brandli of Monroe shot a 76 and placed eighth. Senior Brady Spotts of the Cheesemakers fired a 78 and placed 11th. Junior Lane Scace carded a 79 and placed 13th. Other golfers for the Cheesemakers included senior Aaron Benzschawel with an 81 and junior Brody Koehn with an 82. Brodhead’s top golfer was senior Jayke Huntington, who shot an 89. Senior Brady Flannery and senior Jacob Keating each fired a 90. 

The Rock Valley Conference also announced its All-Conference team. Receiving First Team All-Conference were Brady Spotts and Brock Brandli of Monroe. Brody Koehn of Monroe received Second Team All-Conference. Monroe, Brodhead, and 13 other teams were scheduled to participate in the Monroe Invitational on Friday, May 23.
