STOUGHTON — The Cheesemakers rallied from down a run in the last inning to knock off Stoughton in a makeup game May 4.
Stoughton broke a 5-5 tie in the bottom of the sixth when Kadin Milbauer roped a home run to left field on the second pitch from reliever Max Golembiewski, who then got out of the inning after tossing just 11 more pitches.
In the top of the seventh, Monroe got back-to-back doubles from Trevor Meier and Jared Dillon to tie it at 6. With two outs and two runners on, Payton Stauffacher tripled to center to plate the go ahead runs.
Dillon came in to close out the game, allowing a single and walk before shutting the door.
Stoughton had scored three runs between the first and second innings off of Monroe starter Michael Lange. Monroe then scored five runs in the top of the fourth to briefly take a 5-3 lead before the Vikings tied it in the bottom half of the inning.
Stauffacher was 3 for 5 with four RBIs, while Dillon and Brukwicki each had a pair of hits. Both of Dillon’s hits were doubles.
Lange allowed just three earned runs in five innings of work, striking out four while allowing five walks and six hits.

OREGON — The Cheesemakers were swept in a twinbill May 3.
Bruckwicki threw all six innings in the opener, allowing just three earned runs on 10 hits and two walks with four strikeouts.
Oregon’s Spencer Buskager got the win, striking out 12 and allowing two hits and five walks in five innings. Cameron Carpenter threw two perfect innings with a pair of strikeouts in relief.
Dillon and Tyler Matley had Monroe’s only two hits. Monroe took a brief 2-1 lead in the top of the second, but Oregon tied it in the bottom half of the inning. The Panthers then plated a run in each of the fourth, fifth and sixth innings.
In the 8-3 loss, Payton Sawdey was tagged with the loss for Monroe, allowing four runs on five hits and three walks with two strikeouts in four innings of work. Dillon threw 2/3 of an inning with three walks and two hits. Jared Cline threw 2.1 innings in relief, allowing three hits and a walk and one earned run.
Monroe took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first, but Oregon scored two runs in the top of the third and four more in the fifth to pull away.
Nick Benkert was 3 for 4 for Monroe with two RBIs, while Meier was 1 for 2 with two walks. Monroe struck out nine times at the plate in Game 2.

BLANCHARDVILLE — The third-ranked Vikings were error-free in a doubleheader sweep of River Ridge May 3.
“We came up with key hits in big moments,” Pecatonica coach Jim Strommen said. “We hit up and down the lineup.”
In the opener, Carter Ruegsegger was 2 for 2 at the plate with four RBIs and then pitched four innings on the mound, allowing five hits and a run with no walks and four strikeouts.
“Carter pitched well for us and had two big 2-run singles,” Strommen said.
Lane Busser pitched a scoreless fifth for Pecatonica. Busser, Colton Schaepfer, Bo Hendrickson and Hunter Enloe all had two hits at the plate, with Dakota Doescher hitting a double.
Pecatonica scored four runs in the first inning and added five in the second and another in the third. Both teams scored a run in the fourth inning.
In Game 2, the Vikings scored one in the second, five in the third, four in the fourth and two more runs in the fifth inning. Offensively, Pecatonica rattled off 13 hits and three walks.
Zander Brunker was 3 for 4 with two doubles and two RBIs, while Everett Johnson, Schraepfer and Hendrickson each had two hits. Griffin Gordon had a double and Busser and Schraepfer each scored three runs and stole four bases.
Busser got the win on the mound, throwing three innings and allowing an unearned run on one hit and four walks with two strikeouts. Schraepfer allowed an earned run on two hits and a walk in two innings of work.
“Lane and Colton were efficient and made them put the ball in play,” Strommen said.
Pecatonica (13-1, 7-0) were ranked third in the Wisconsin Baseball Coaches Association Division 4 poll.

CASSVILLE — The Orioles scored a sweep in a Six Rivers crossover doubleheader May 3.
Mitchell Flannery threw five innings of relief to get the win for Argyle, allowing a run on three hits and a walk with four strikeouts. Miken Godfrey started on the mound and allowed six runs on three hits, five walks and two hit batters in just two-plus innings of work.
The Orioles fell behind 4-2 after the first inning, and despite scoring three runs in the top of the third, trailed 7-5 at the end of the frame.
Argyle scored three runs in the top of the sixth to take the lead for good.
BJ Penniston was 3 for 4 with two runs and two RBIs for Argyle, and Clay Ritschard and Jayden Johnson each had two hits.
In Game 2, the Orioles went big early on. After allowing two runs to the Chieftains in the top of the first, Argyle scored four runs in the second and eight in the third to blow the game open.
Flannery was 2 for 3 with a double in the leadoff spot, while Gavin Johnson was 4 for 4 with two doubles, a triple and five RBIs. Penniston was 2 for 2 with two walks and a triple, and Jayden Johnson was 2 for 2 with a walk, two runs and three RBIs. Jake Ploessle also had two hits and Mason Waage had a double with two walks and three RBIs.
Gavin Johnson pitched four innings on the mound, allowing three runs on five hits, a walk and a hit batter with four strikeouts. Travis Dammen pitched the fifth inning in relief and allowed two hits and a run with two strikeouts.

MONTICELLO — The Ponies collected just nine hits with zero walks in the Six Rivers crossover doubleheader May 3.
Corbin Kelly took the loss in Game 1, allowing six runs (one earned) on seven hits and a walk in three innings. Josh Dahl tossed the final three innings, giving up four earned runs on five hits and five walks with three strikeouts. Dahl also had a double at the plate.
In Game 2, Tyler Anderson was tagged for seven runs on seven hits and a walk in 1.1 innings. Andy Gertsch allowed five runs on three hits and two walks in 2/3 of an inning. Andrew Eyler pitched the final two frames and allowed two runs on three hits and three walks with five strikeouts.
Cuba City 2, Darlington 1
CUBA CITY — The Cubans were walk-off winners against the Redbirds in a SWAL matchup May 3.
With two outs and two on in the bottom of the seventh, Dylan Timmerman singled to left on the first pitch he saw to end the game.
Preston Banfield impressed for 6.1 innings on the hill for Darlington, allowing five hits and four walks with six strikeouts and two runs. Barry Schliem took over with one out in the seventh and allowed the hit by Timmerman.
Carter Lancaster scored Darlington’s only run in the fourth inning. Nick Andrae had a double.
Brodhead-Juda 7, Jefferson 4
JEFFERSON — The Cardinals took a 2-0 lead into the sixth before the Eagles scored three runs to put the pressure on.
Brodhead-Juda responded with a five-run top of the seventh inning to score the Rock Valley Conference win.
Jake Miller was 2 for 4 with two RBIs, while Cardinals teammates Conner Green and Andrew Brockwell also had two RBI games.
Miller, Green and Marco Bueno all doubled for Brodhead-Juda.
Quinton Kammerer threw five-plus innings on the mound, allowing five hits and two runs with a strikeout and two walks. Green threw two innings of relief, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks with three strikeouts.
