NEW GLARUS — Monroe knocked off host New Glarus in their nonconference tilt Jan. 13 by a score of 69-58.
The visiting Cheesemakers went into the halftime locker room ahead by just a point at 27-26, but out-scored the host Knights by 10 in the second half. Both teams shot 37% in the game, including the exact same mark from deep — 6 of 24. Monroe won the game at the free throw line, hitting 15 of 18 attempts. New Glarus was 6 of 11 from the stripe.
Mekhi Brown led all scorers with 26 points for MHS, while Jordan Meyer added 15. Clayton Streiff scored 20 for NG, with Nolan Julseth notching 13 and Matt Roth finishing with 10.
Argyle 41, Albany 30
ALBANY — In a game played Jan. 13, the Comets went into the halftime locker room looking for answers on the offensive end, as they had scored just 16 points. While the offense struggled shooting, defensively Albany was holding it together, as the Orioles also had just 16 points.
The second half was a different story, however, as Albany put up just 14 points on the scoreboard compared to Argyle’s 25.
Albany finished the game shooting just 26.3% from the field. Argyle, meanwhile, ended at 45.7%.
Kaden Zurfluh of Albany led all scorers with 15 points. Deacon Kuebli and Mason McNett each had 10 for Argyle.
Pardeeville 79, Belleville 65
PARDEEVILLE — Jackson Scholey scored 30 points and teammate Adam Cann added 14, but the Wildcats couldn’t pull off the upset victory over fifth-ranked Pardeeville in a nonconference game Jan. 14.
Darlington 93, Riverdale 58
DARLINGTON — Zeke Zuberbuhler and Broker Buschor each had 23 points for the host Redbirds in their SWAL contest Jan. 14. Dante Glendenning (10) and Ryder Fitzsimons (13) also reached double-figures for Darlington, which doubled up their opponent to lead 56-28 at halftime.
Highland 95, Pecatonica 59
BLANCHARDVILLE — The Vikings had three players in double figures, (Griffin Noll 17, Charles Anderson 14, Luke Leonard 10) totally 41 points between the three of them. However, Highland’s Wesley Kraisinger went off for a career-high 40 points, 14 rebounds and seven steals all on his own. His previous career high was 29, set last season.
