MONROE — After playing through a scoreless first half, the Cheesemakers gave up five second half goals to Portage-Poynette in their nonconference game at T.R. Holyoke field April 4.

Six minutes into the second half Portage opened up the scoring. Seven minutes later, the visitors made it 2-0, and less than six minutes after that it was 3-0.

Monroe was only able to scratch off five shots in the game, three of which on goal. The Cheesemakers sent two keepers in the box throughout the game. Lily Frehner had three saves and allowed two goals in 16 minutes of relief, while freshman Kyla Ziolkowski had four saves and let up three goals in 72 minutes. 

Hannah Walters had a hat trick for Portage, while Abby Leeland scored two goals. Leeland added two assists. Abby Brown had two assists for Portage, and Gwen Golueke had an assist as well.

Sugar River 4, Stoughton 0

BELLEVILLE — Ellie Gentilli scored two goals for the Raiders in a nonconference win April 5. 

Gentilli put the first one in the back of the net off a pass from Kristen Krantz at the 40:48 mark of the first half.

In the second half, the Raiders got three goals to preserve the win. Gentilli made it 2-0 off a pass from Francesca Schiro in the 55th minute, then Jaylynn Benson made it 3-0 in the 56th minute. Less than three minutes later, Julia McNamer scored off a pass from Krantz.

Stoughton had just a single shot attempt on goal, which was saved by freshman keeper Morgan Thompson. The Raiders put 15 shots on net.
