Sugar River 3, Wisconsin Dells 2
WISCONSIN DELLS — The Raiders are one game closer to a Capitol Conference championship. On Sept. 28, Sugar River (8-1-2, 5-0 Capitol) rallied from a halftime deficit to pick up a major 3-2 victory over Wisconsin Dells (9-1, 5-1) on the road.
The Dells scored in the seventh minute to put the Raiders on their heels. The scored stayed 1-0 into halftime, but less than six minutes into the second half, Ryan Downing scored the equalizer for Sugar River with Ryan Hagen assisting.
Less than four minutes later, the Raiders continued their plunder of the Dells defensive formation, as Downing assisted Hagen for a goal to make it 2-1. In the 64th minute, Hagen scored again, this time with Brycen Teasdale assisting.
The Dells scored one final goal with less than eight minutes to play, but the Raiders held them off. Sugar River keeper Cam Kleiboer finished with 14 saves.
Both Sugar River and the Dells are tied atop the league table with 15 points each. The Raiders have three games remaining to the Dells’ two. Heights-Barneveld (4-7, 2-3) and Cambridge-Deerfield (2-6-2, 1-2-1).
