SOUTH WAYNE — Black Hawk senior Cayden Milz was one of 11 players from around the state to be honored as a member of the 2019 Wisconsin Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete Team.

The May 6 announcement came from the Wisconsin chapter of the National Football Foundation, which recognizes outstanding football players who also excel in the classroom.

Milz is a three-sport athlete, competing in football, wrestling and baseball. He’s a member of the National Honor Society, student council, FFA, band and choir; plus a flag football coach and a food pantry volunteer.

Milz was the Six Rivers Conference leading rusher, Defensive Player of the Year and all-state this past fall, as well as a two-time first-team all-conference linebacker. He played key roles in leading his team to back-to-back state championships. As a senior captain, Milz played a key role helping Black Hawk integrate its first-year co-op with Warren.

He plans to attend UW-Platteville with a potential major in occupational study.
